Following his invention of the door chime in 1936, which replaced the door buzzer, Ralph Corbett began what is known today as Nutone.  For over 70 years this company has made residential homes more convenient and pleasant, especially with their development in central vacuum systems.  The Nutone central vacuum is widely accepted because there is no cumbersome machine to carry around.  The system is installed in a predetermined location, usually outside of the home. The collected dirt, debris and other particles travel to the unit via the Nutone vacuum hose and are stored inside the vacuum bag located inside the machine.  The bags for this brand of central vacuum typically hold six to eight gallons of dirt and debris and signal the user when they need to be changed.  There is also a special shut off feature that prevents the bags from bursting when they are full, but cleaning is still in process.
