We used the Electrolux EL7063A UltraSilencer DeepClean canister vacuum to clean the high-traffic main lobby in our office. Our lobby is carpeted, and, like most carpets, it tends to trap all kinds of debris. The EL7063A picked up paper scraps, dirt, pet hair, and much more without exerting much effort. The power nozzle's rubber-coated wheels glided easily over our carpet. When we switched the EL7063A from bare floor to carpet mode (via a button on its handle), its power head lit up, illuminating all the dirt that needed to be taken care of.
The power head also features two handy lights. The first is a carpet height indicator that tells you which depth of carpeting your current height is suited to clean. The second is a brushroll indicator light. If your brushroll becomes blocked (as ours did when we ran over a sneaker), a red light will alert you to that.
Of course, being in a busy office building, our main concern was generating too much noise while we tested the EL7063A. We love our vacuum cleaners around here, but they aren't exactly silent. When we turned the EL7063A on, however, we were pleasantly surprised. It started so gently and softly that we weren't sure it was running. Further inspection revealed that the EL7063A uses sound-insulating foam that muffles the sound of its motor without compromising its cleaning performance.

An electronic screen on the EL7063's eye-catching blue and orange canister gives you a visual representation of which suction setting it is set to. Even on its lowest setting, the EL7063A made easy work of picking up whatever debris was sitting on top of our lobby's carpet.
We were also pleased with the performance of the EL7063A's various attachments. The EL7063A comes equipped with a floor brush, a crevice tool, an upholstery tool, and a dusting brush. Its floor brush offers a wide cleaning path, and makes easy work of lifting dirt and debris from bare floors, such as hardwood and tile. The EL7063A's crevice tool and dustingbrush store neatly under the handle, which wasespecially convenient when we removed the handle from its extension wand. We were perhapsmost impressed by the EL7063A's upholstery tool. Its underside is lined with soft Japanese felt, and its plastic surface is perforated to ensure that the tool won't stick to your upholstery as you vacuum.
Its free-standing power nozzle is a very handy feature. If you need to take a break from vacuuming, or if you want your vacuum to stay upright when it's in storage, the power head will stand upright without needing to be propped against a wall or furniture.
The EL7063A's S-bag dustbag is easy to remove and replace. By pulling the tab on the S-bag's front, a layer of cardboard covers the dustbag, preventing the dust and allergens we picked up from escaping. A motor filter in the back of the bag cavity prevents any rogue particles from finding their way into the vacuum's internal mechanism. The EL7063A's sealed system also ensures that any particles that find their way into its bag won't re-enter your home.
