We tested this Electrolux EL7080ACL UltraOne Classic canister vacuum cleaner on some low-pile commercial carpeting, bare flooring, and a section of Berber rug. The EL7080ACL is not recommended for use on shag or other deep-pile carpeting because it does not accommodate a power head. We recommend this vacuum cleaner for homes with mostly hardwood or other bare floor types.

A suction control dial on the EL7080ACL's canister allows you to easily customize suction power for cleaning a range of surfaces. Pictographs indicate which surface each setting is suited for. From left to right, these include drapes, upholstery, throw rugs, carpeting, and bare floors. We noticed dramatic increases in suction power as we turned the dial clockwise. Its noise output is comparable to similar vacuum cleaners on its more powerful settings, but that is not to say that this is a loud vacuum cleaner.
Beside this suction dial is a full bag indicator, which turns green to alert the user to clogs and full dustbags. Also located on the EL7080ACL's canister are its power switch and cord retract pedal. To eliminate the need to bend over, these pedals can be manipulated with just the tap of your foot. The EL7080ACL operates especially quietly on low suction settings.
The EL7080ACL includes a range of deluxe attachments, including the deluxe rug and floor tool. A tap of the switch on its top is all that it needs to switch from a gentle floor cleaner to a smooth carpet sweeper. Each setting made easy work of removing crumbs, dirt, and other debris from our bare floors and low-pile commercial carpeting. The EL7080ACL also features what we like to call a "double decker" storage setup.
