Electrolux Ergorapido ShearClean Product Review

Electrolux Ergorapido ShearClean Product Review

This time, we took the Electrolux Ergorapido ShearClean cordless vacuum for a spin on our low, medium, and high-pile carpets. Read on below to hear what we thought.

Upon opening the box, we noticed that the components of this cordless vacuum were a lot more complex then the self-standing Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion Plus Xtra. This particular model comes equipped with a charging stand that must be individually assembled in order to charge the unit. While this might seem like a downside, there is also an upside because this charging stand also acts as a holder for the crevice tool and dusting brush. When you attach the unit to the charging stand, a blue indicator light will illuminate on the ergonomic handle of this unit. In total, you get 20 minutes of run time with this cordless vacuum, but you must charge the NIMH, 12 volt battery for 16 hours to reach full capacity.

The first thing we did with this cordless vacuum was test it out on low-pile carpet. To operate, we pressed downward on the power button to turn the unit on. This immediately sent the brushroll spinning at high speed, which only has a run time of 12 minutes. To maximize our testing period, we pressed downward on the power button once more, and the brushroll speed decreased. Identical to the Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion Plus Xtra, this model comes with four cylindrical headlights located on the front of the motor head, Brushroll Clean Technology that cleans your brushroll with just the tap of your foot, and 180-degree swivel steering for getting dirt and dander lingering around chair legs. All in all, this Electrolux Ergorapido model raced around low-pile carpeting like a boss.

Next, we decided to test out the handheld portion of this vacuum by simultaneously pressing on two silver buttons on the left and ride side of the cordless vacuum body. Once the handheld was released from the unit, we were able to quickly attach the crevice tool to the end of the handheld and get cleaning. So what did we think? We thought the handheld was fantastic. It was just as powerful as the stick portion of the vacuum. This was something we were not expecting at all.

Once we were done vacuuming, we decided to open up the internal housing of the vacuum and explore the ins and out of its bagless construction. To clean the fine mesh filter, pull and release the string 5-6 times to help dislodge dust from the filter. To remove dirt and debris, simultaneously press the orange side clamps inward to separate the 0.4 quart dust chamber from the handheld housing. When finished, insert the dust chamber back into the handheld housing until you hear an audible click that tells you that it's securely in place. Connect the portable vacuum with the handheld handle, and you're ready to vacuum once more.

Other cool features of this handheld include non-marring wheels to keep your bare floor surfaces scuff free, and an ultra light product weight of 5.3 pounds. Moreover, this model was engineered was a rubber pad on the backside of the ergonomic handle for a comfortable grip while you vacuum each room.

We hope this product review gave you a solid introduction to the Electrolux Ergorapido ShearClean. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak with a vacuum support specialist by dialing 1-866-972-8227.
