Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Unplug the Vacuum

Always disconnect the vacuum from power before performing any maintenance or repairs.

2. Remove the Bottom Screws

Turn the power nozzle upside down and remove all screws from the bottom plate.

3. Remove the Top Cover

Carefully lift off the top cover to access the internal components.

4. Remove the Brushroll

Locate the screws at each end of the brushroll assembly and remove them.

Once the screws are removed, lift the brushroll out of the power nozzle housing.

5. Install the New Belt

Remove the old belt and install the new one by:

  1. Looping the belt around the motor shaft.

  2. Stretching the belt around the brushroll pulley.

6. Reinstall the Brushroll

Place the brushroll back into the power nozzle housing and ensure the belt is properly aligned.

Reinstall the screws at each end of the brushroll.

7. Reassemble the Power Nozzle

Replace the top cover and reinstall all bottom screws.

8. Test the Vacuum

Turn on the vacuum and verify that the brushroll spins properly and the power nozzle is cleaning effectively.

Additional Steps for Electrolux EPIC, Guardian, and Renaissance Models

Some Electrolux power nozzles require additional disassembly before the brushroll can be removed.

This applies to many:

  • Electrolux EPIC series vacuums

  • Electrolux Guardian series vacuums

  • Electrolux Renaissance series vacuums

  • Certain central vacuum power nozzles

On these models, you may need to:

  1. Remove the headlight socket assembly.

  2. Remove the dirt separator or internal housing components.

  3. Access the brushroll after these components have been removed.

Once these parts are removed, the belt replacement procedure is the same as described above.

Signs You Need a New Belt

  • Brushroll is not spinning

  • Poor carpet cleaning performance

  • Burning rubber smell

  • Belt appears cracked, stretched, or broken

  • Vacuum leaves debris behind on carpets

Replacing a worn belt is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to keep your Electrolux vacuum performing like new.
