J.E. Adams Product Review

J.E. Adams Product Review

For this product review, we gave our traditional uprights and canisters a break and jutted out to a local car wash to review a J.E. Adams car vacuum.

J.E. Adams VacuumLike many J.E. Adams vacuums, this machine was coin (and bill) operated. To operate, simply insert any whole dollar amount between $1 and $5 to start the machine. For example, a $1 bill should give you 5 minutes of vacuum time, and the time limit is multiplied by two for every $1 you put in. For owners, you can adjust the time settings by fiddling with the dip switches located inside the metal housing. For example, if dip switches 3.2 and .8 are set to on, the consumer would only need to insert 1 quarter to receive 4 minutes of vacuum time. For users, make sure you only insert quarters or whole dollar amounts between $1 and $5 because these machines will not provide change, and you cannot insert pennies, nickels, or dimes to create the desired dollar amount.

Once the desired dollar amount is inserted into the machine, the black or yellow 15 ft swivel hose will spring to life. From there, you can vacuum your floor mats, front seats, back seats, and trunk. With a 20 amp, 120 volt dual motor system, users should expect excellent suction when using this machine. Moreover, the unique shell-shaped hose head concentrates the air flow so it can collect dirt and debris trapped in nooks and crannies of your car. When the time starts to wind down, a loud beeping sound should emit from the machine and shut off when the digital display clock reaches "00.00". From there, simply wrap the hose around the hose hooks and drive off with a spotless interior.

JE Adams Vacuum HoseFor gas station and car wash owners, you can make your J.E. Adams vacuums more appealing to your customer base by programming custom greeting and exit messages. These 64 character digital messages can be programmed by fiddling with the mode settings inside the machine. Alternatively, you can choose to keep the standard greeting and exit messages. Moreover, a remote control is sold separately that allows you to program the timer and check coin inventory with just a few clicks of a button. The coin acceptor will become full after 235 quarters have been inserted into the machine.

Are you a fan of colors? Well, you're in luck because the lighted domes on many J.E. Adams models can be customized to match the color scheme of your business. This particular car wash chose a plastic yellow dome, but green, blue, white, and red domes are also available. Want to go the extra mile? Pick out a hose that matches the dome. Hoses come in red, blue, yellow, green or beige. Best of all, you can customize your J.E. Adams vacuum at absolutely no additional cost to you!

Lastly, as with any vacuum, you need to check your filters and change your bags on a regular basis to prevent clogs and ultimately a loss of suction. J.E. Adams recommends that you access and shake out your filter bags weekly and replace with fresh cloth bags every few months. Also, you need to check your motor brushes once a month as they can be worn down over time. If they are shorter than 1/4 inch, they should be changed immediately.
