If you're in the market for a SEBO vacuum cleaner, you're ingood company. SEBO vacuum cleaners are trusted by commercial cleaners and homeowners all over the world. They're even used to clean iconic landmarks and posh hotels: the Waldorf Astoria in Berlin, Buckingham Palace, and the White House are just a sampling of SEBO's high-endclientele.

eVacuumStore.com is an authorized SEBO vacuum retailer, and as such we get lots of questions about SEBO products. This post seeks to answer the ones we are most frequently asked.

What does "SEBO" mean?
The name "SEBO" (rhymes with "we go") is an acronym for the German phrase "semigewerbliche bodenpflegegerate," meaning "semi-industrial floor care." Internationally, the name is also commonly interpreted as "Quality."

Where are SEBO vacuums made?
All of SEBO's products are designed, engineered, and manufactured in Germany.

What is S-Class filtration?
The "S" in S-Class filtration stands for "Schwebstoff," the German word for "airborne particles." SEBO's S-Class filters are made from electrostatically-charged microfiber cloth, which attracts and traps the dust, pollen, and other irritants in the vacuum's airflow. This system ensures that only clean, filtered air is exhausted back into your home.

What's the difference between hospital-grade and S-Class filtration?
S-class filtration standards require that filters be designed to absorb 99.9% of particles down to 0.3 microns in diameter. There is no such standard for hospital grade filtration, and many vacuum manufacturers that claim hospital grade filtration capabilities are actually quoting the filter manufacturer's specifications.

What are the differences between the ET-1 and ET-2 power nozzles?
The ET-1 power nozzle measures 12 inches wide and has a cleaning path of 10.5 inches. The ET-2 is 15 inches wide and has a 13-inch cleaning path. Both models feature four manually-adjustable height settings, brushroll indicator lights, easy brushroll removal, and exceptional edge-cleaning capabilities.

What's the difference between the Automatic X4 and the Automatic X5?
The main difference between the two models is the size of their power nozzles. The X4's power nozzle measures 12 inches wide and has a 10.5-inch cleaning path. The X5's L-shaped power nozzle measures 15 inches wide, has a 14-inch cleaning path, and has two-sided edge-cleaning capabilities. Another minor difference is that the X5 offers on-board storage for its included triangular dusting brush, whereas the X4 does not come with that attachment.

How does the X4/X5's automatic height adjustment work?
The SEBO X4 and X5 feature electronic controllers that measure the resistance of the spinning brushroll against the floor and moves the power nozzle up or down to suit the surface it is cleaning. Two indicator lights on top of the power nozzle will show the operator when the brushroll is moving up or down.

What's the difference between the Felix Kombi and the Felix Premium?
The main difference is that the Felix Premium includes a power nozzle and a parquet floor brush. The Felix Kombi comes with a straight-suction combination cleaner head, but it can accommodate a Premium power nozzle. All of SEBO's Felix models offer on-board tool storage and detachable suction units for easy cleaning of drapes, stairs, and upholstery.

Where can I go to get my SEBO serviced?
You can send it to us for service, or go to sebo.us to find a SEBO dealer near you.

Why should I choose SEBO over Miele?
One of the main reasons customers choose SEBO over Miele vacuum cleaners is that all of SEBO's parts are made in one German factory. Miele, on the other hand, uses separate German manufacturers to build its vacuums and accessories. There is also a difference in construction. Whereas Miele upright vacuum cleaners are made from a thinner plastic, SEBO's vacuum cleaners are constructed from durable ABS plasticthe same material found in football helmets.
