For this review, we tried the Shark SV75 Pet Perfect handheld vacuum cleaner on some low-pile commercial carpeting, table tops, and upholstery.
The lightweight SV75 came pre-assembled, so all it needed was a quick charge before we were ready to start vacuuming. We plugged it in for about two hours, during which time a green indicator light on top of the unit alerted us to its charge status. On a single charge, this hand vacuum provides up to 15 minutes of continuous suction power. This was more than enough time for us to clean crumbs and debris from several counter tops and a section of low-pile commercial carpeting.
This handheld vacuum cleaner from Shark comes with a motorized brush attachment, which is something we don't frequently find on hand vacs. This attachment agitates fibers to provide a deeper clean on carpets, upholstery, and stairs. This motorized brush also works well at removing stubborn pet hair from these surfaces. One reviewer used this vacuum to clean the upholstery in her car, where her dog is a frequent passenger. With the motorized brush attachment in tow, this hand vacuum made easy work of removing fur from the surface of her seats.
For more direct suction on bare floors and other hard surfaces, the brush attachment is easy to remove. When the battery finally ran down, we emptied the SV75's dustcup. This is easily done. We simply pressed a switch on top of the SV75 to detach the dustcup, removed the filter, and emptied the contents of the dustcup into the trash. The dustcup was easy to empty, and we are sure that it could have accommodated far more dirt than what we picked up in this test. The SV75's dustcup has a larger capacity than some of the hand vacuums we've encountered in the past, which is especially convenient for more extensive messes.
The Shark SV75 Pet Perfect handheld vacuum cleaner provides powerful suction capabilities at a price that won'tbreak the bank.
