The hose that comes with this unit is 30 feet in length and is available with either a pig tail cord or a direct connect plug-in. A pig tail hose is used for homes that have standard inlet valves installed. In order to provide electric attachments with the necessary electricity to operate, the 6 foot pig-tail cord must be plugged into a nearby outlet. Conversely, a super valve has the required 110 volts built into it. A direct connect hose has two pins on the wall end that plug into the receptacle of super valves powering all necessary attachments as well as the central vacuum unit.
