I had the same issue with the wheels the plastic wears down and the wheels fall off I believe its been at least 15 years since I purchased it so its lasted a long time other than that its been a good unit!!

After a year you will have problems with the wheels. The plastic wears down and it has no why of holding the wheels on. Other than that I love the vaccum. It is easy to use and I like the easy release neck for the stairs. I just don't want to replace a vaccum every other year.
