We have 14 year old Duo-Vac "STAR" and a 2year old Duo-Vac "Asteria" in two homes. We have Bernese Mtn. Dogs and Newfie. We do a LOT of vacuuming. The vacuums have great suction and have never had a problem. If you have long haired dogs, I also recommend the SEBO powerhead. You can remove the brush easily to remove the long hairs.With other powerheads you have to take the whole unit apart. Be advised that NU-ERA Air, the manufacturer of Duo-Vac, ceased operations in April 2024.
