The Airpura C400 Chemical and Gas Abatement Air Purifier focuses on gaseous pollutants and persistent indoor odors. Its regular C400 configuration pairs 12 pounds of activated coconut-shell carbon with a HEPA Barrier particle filter, making it an option for homes and workplaces where chemical and odor filtration are the main priorities.
Activated Carbon for Chemical and Odor Filtration
The 2.25-inch carbon filter contains 12 pounds of activated carbon made from 100% coconut shell. It adsorbs a broad range of airborne chemicals, gases and everyday odors. Specially blended carbon options are available for specific chemical concerns; confirm the appropriate blend for your application before ordering.
This listing offers Regular C400 and Super Gas 400 carbon-filter options. The 12-pound coconut-shell carbon specifications describe the regular C400 configuration; do not assume every carbon option uses the same blend.
HEPA Barrier Particle Filtration
The HEPA Barrier is rated to capture 95% of airborne particles at 1 micron. This is a different filtration rating from the 99.97% at 0.3 microns listed for H13 HEPA models. A vacuumable poly prefilter provides an additional filtration stage.
