Cana-Vac ACAN60A Central Vacuum Unit

The shipping did *not* go off without a hitch. The note on my window left by UPS said a signature was required by a person over 21 *at my residence* with no exceptions. That’s tough to do when you live alone and work an hour away. I was finally able to get a hold of evaccuums on the phone, and get them to contact UPS to change it where it would be delivered to my neighbor who is home every day. Once I got the vacuum, the box was in pretty rough shape. Someone had done a extensive tape job to the bottom, and oddly, without using the flaps that make up the box bottom that were folded inside the box. The dirt bucket part of the unit was slight bent out of round, but I was able to squeeze it back to round. I also found parts to the vacuum stuck to the tape that made up the bottom of the box. That equated to a Christmas miracle that the parts weren’t gone forever. It was the two latch loops that held the dirt bucket to the rest of the vacuum, and the nut that held the circuit board to the side of the vacuum. During testing, the arc fault breaker on my living room outlets popped every time I turned it on. After rebuilding the unit with the loose parts, I took it to a GFI circuit and it worked fine. Connecting the unit to an arc fault breaker was never the plan, but I found it curious that it would not operate on one. It must have to do with the type of motor that drives the unit. Suction is very good, and it works as expected.
