How the Dehumidifier Works

1. A fan draws moist room air into the unit.
2. The air passes over the cold evaporator coil and cools below its dew point.
3. Moisture condenses on the coil and collects in the condensate tray.
4. Collected water drains away through the condensate tube.
5. The air passes over the hot condenser coil, recovering heat from the refrigeration process.
6. The unit returns warmer, drier air to the room.
7. The temperature-sensitive defrost system de-ices the unit when required.
8. The internal humidistat controls operation according to the selected humidity level.

Pool and Spa Applications

Evaporation from indoor pools and spas adds moisture to the surrounding air. The PD220-D is designed to manage that humidity by circulating room air through its refrigeration system and draining away condensed moisture. Proper sizing is important for maintaining the intended relative humidity and managing condensation on windows, walls, and ceilings.

Installation and Defrost Features

The PD digital range uses temperature-sensitive defrost to support drying across its operating range. Underside runners with predrilled mounting points support installation, and optional duct flanges are available for ducted arrangements. The PD220-D can operate as a standalone unit or be installed in a ducted system, subject to the manufacturer's installation requirements.

Humidity Control and Remote Options

An internal humidistat is supplied as standard to control operation based on the selected humidity level. Continuous air circulation through the unit gradually reduces relative humidity in the space.

An optional remote interface allows connection to a remote humidistat with voltage-free contacts or an EIPL remote touch panel. The touch panel incorporates an internal humidity sensor, supports an external humidity sensor, and provides local indication of the remote dehumidifier's status and operation.
