I'm a 30+ year computer geek, so to change out the motor took me 1.5 hours.This included figuring out how take the vacuum apart, remove the old motor, clean the entire inside housing, solder the old wires/connectors from the old motor to the new one, reassemble the entire unit and test. Wife very happy. ;)

The motor is GREAT and has more suction than ever. However, there were no instructions and the motor is different from the original motor. There is an adapter tube which had to be cut to fit; I had to cut off about an inch. Even with NO instructions. I made out OK but it took longer than anticipated. Some hints, a couple pictures or any recommendations on how to determine the length of the tube would have been very helpful. ALso, the motor seems to be louder than the original; not a problem, just an observation. Ultimately, I am very happy with the results and will see how much life is left in my 48 year old vacuum! (The old motor just needed a small bearing. Of course it was not available...)
