The original filter was a 1/4 inch thick compressible and light foam material but the replacement from DVC was not similar. The replacement was an 1/8 inch thick multi-layered, dense filter which appears to be constructed from some type of paper-like material. When I ordered this filter, there was no image or description of the filter except for the part number. The filter does fit my Eureka and it appears to be well made but I only gave it 4 stars just because the filter material is different. This filter may work as well as or better than the foam type so I decided to keep it.
