In a nutshell, the -2 and -3 appended to the model numbers demarcates the next edition in any Miele Power Head or Miele Floor Brush series. Each attachment is designed to fit with a designated Miele vacuum hose and telescopic wand. On the backside of the neck, you will find a docking clip that attaches the floor attachment to the body of a comparable canister model. The Miele SEB213 Electro Comfort Power Nozzle comes equipped with an external sheath cord that attaches the power head to either the Miele SES100 or Miele SES105 electric vacuum hose. It works great on low to medium pile carpeting and has a 10.5 inch cleaning path. It's successor, the Miele SEB213-2 Electric Comfort Power Nozzle, also utilizes an external sheath cord to generate low voltage options, but this attachment has a slightly larger cleaning path of 11 inches. Moreover, the Miele SES213-2 can only work with the Miele SES113 electric vacuum hose.
Unlike the Miele SEB213 series, Miele SEB217 power nozzles generate high and low voltage options via a direct connect system. This removes the need for an external sheath cord. The Miele SEB217-2 operates with the Miele SET220 telescopic electric wand and the Miele SES118 vacuum hose. It has a 10 1/4 inch cleaning path and works wonders on low-pile carpeting. It's successor, the Miele SEB217-3, uses the same SET220 telescopic electric wand, but it needs a Miele SES116, Miele SES117, Miele SES119, or Miele SES130 vacuum hose to work accordingly. On the other hand, if you own the Miele H1 Swing, you can simply attach any SEB217 power nozzle to the lower wand and vacuum away! We hope this blog post was helpful in determining the differences between -2 and -3 Miele products.
