If you're the new owner of a Dyson Airblade hand dryer, you may want to consider converting its wiring to be 110v outlet compatible, which is your standard household electric outlet.
We would not recommend making this conversion if this hand dryer is being used in a restaurant or any other commercial setting, as this would make it very easy for patrons to unplug and tamper with it. In these locations, we suggest sticking with the regular hard wire installation.
Please zoom in on your internet browser window to get a closer view and see more details of any of the pictures that are shown here. Give us a call if you have further questions, or would like some technical assistance over the phone, while you're installing your 110V power cord.
Before making any first steps you'll want to remove the screw covers from the front to reveal the screws.
To remove screws from the front cover of the Dyson Airblade, you'll need to use a special torque bit, which has a hole in the center. This unique tool is included with each Dyson Airblade, so you don't need to make a special trip to the hardware store to get yours.
The first step in making this conversion is to remove the front cover of your Airblade unit. Simply remove the scews on the front and then take off the cover to access the wiring inside.
Also, make sure to remove the the screws by the vent on the bottom of the hand dryer.
Once you have the front cover removed, you'll want to look for the contact block, which is the 2x3 receptacle (shown in the top right corner of the picture to the left).
Basically, you'll want to attach the corresponding wires from a 110V Romex cord on the opposite ends of the existing wires in the Airblade, as shown in the picture to the right.
We recommend feeding your 110V cord through a romex connector at the bottom of the Airblade. This will allow you to keep the cord tight and securely attached to your Dyson Airblade. Also, you'll want to make sure that the romex connector is firmly in place before reattaching the front cover.
Once your Airblade and new cord look like the picture to the left, you're ready to install and use it!
Next, you'll want to set your mounting bracket. Start off by making sure that it's level, and then use the bolts to attach it to the area on the wall where you want to attach it.
When the wallmount is ready, you can simply install the unit, plug the cord into a nearby outlet, and you're ready to go!
