It's not going to be as full-featured as Miele's more expensive models, but it does have Miele's trademark quality and engineering behind it, with exacting manufacturing standards that result in the high-quality finish and feel which typical of Miele vacuums.
As a relatively new model for Miele, it has yet to be widely reviewed, but sites such as Vacuum Cleaner Advisor give it high marks for its intended purposes (though will caution that the vacuum isn't intended for use on deep-pile carpet).
Design & Use
This vacuum excels at what it was designed to do—clean dust and debris off a variety of solid-type flooring and short-pile carpeted areas. It features three casters on the canister body, which allow for easy maneuverability—the canister will follow its user around without tipping or flipping, and without getting caught up on corners or furniture. It glides easily over all types of flat flooring, and at less than thirteen pounds, is incredibly lightweight—most other canister vacuums in this class are easily twice as heavy. This makes the Classic C1 easy to move and maneuver and effortless to pick up and transport between rooms or through multi-level homes.

With a cleaning radius of 29.5 feet, the Miele Classic C1 Pure Suction has impressive reach and is more than adequate for cleaning even large rooms -- without having to change outlets. The cord is easily retractable, with a smoothly operating mechanism that doesn't catch or stutter. The hose and extendable wand give a roughly nine-foot cleaning radius around the canister itself, with the wand itself extending to four feet, making it easy to clean curtains, overhead ceiling fans, and hard-to-reach corners.
The accessories are quite useful and function well for their intended purposes, with the upholstery brush being especially effective. When it is time to change outlets, the light weight of the canister makes it easy to transport and reposition.

Though it does feature Miele's proprietary AirClean filter, it is worth noting that (unlike other Miele vacuums), the C1 doesn't feature HEPA filtration.
Performance
Powered by a 1200-watt Miele-made Vortex motor, the Miele Classic C1 Pure Suction has strong suction that eliminates dirt and debris on tile, hardwood, and other flat flooring, and it does an equally great job on low-pile carpeting. Though the non-motorized floorhead's performance depends entirely on straight suction, this proves to be more than adequate on the flooring types for which it was designed. One of this little powerhouse's best features is how quiet it is. The motor gradually ramps up to full operating speed, which proves to be much less of a jarring experience than the “full on” operation of most other models on the market. Even at full power, it's easy to hold a normal conversation over the sound of the vacuum.
The disposable bags that fit the Miele Classic C1 Pure Suction are fairly large, especially for a vacuum this size, with a holding capacity of about a half-gallon. Though bagged vacuums are marginally more expensive to operate than more expensive bagless models, using a bag prevents clouds of dust billowing out of the canister every time you empty it.
