A couple months ago, we took the Miele Dynamic U1 Twist for a spin on our smooth floor and pile carpeting surfaces. This time, we switched things up by busting out the Miele Dynamic U1 Cat & Dog Upright. Both models are very similar when you compare features and design, but there are some key differences that makes this model ideal for households with pets. For one, the Miele Dynamic U1 Cat & Dog is the only Miele model that comes with the Miele STB101 Mini Turbo Brush. Measuring 6 1/4 inches across, the soft bristle brushroll agitates any surface you're cleaning while the upright's powerful 1200 watt, high output Vortex motor works to remove loosened pet hair and other debris. To neutralize any odors, the Miele SF-AA30 Active Air Clean Filter features a charcoal cassette that filter 99.95% of particulate matter down to 0.5 microns in size. For added convenience, a color-coded timestrip indicator will gradually change from green to red as it monitors the cleanliness of your filter.
A staple of Miele uprights, Miele U AirClean Filterbags are designed to hold 5.45 quarts of dirt and debris and comes armed with a hygienic, self-sealing collar that prevents particulate matter from being released back into the atmosphere. This the largest capacity bag that Miele sells. In fact, you can hold 20 bagless containers of debris inside one Miele U AirClean Filterbag. This preserves and improves your indoor air quality because you're not allowing dirt and debris to be released back into the atmosphere when you replace your bag.
Similar to Miele's Classic C1 and Compact C2 canisters, the Miele Dynamic U1 Cat and Dog Upright features four levels of suction control operated via a traditional rotary dial. The four settings are: low pile, deep pile, smooth floors, and curtains. When you turn this dial to the left or right, the spring-loaded brushroll will adjust its height to the floor surface. In conjunction with the suction control feature, the ergonomic handle comes equipped with tha carpet / smooth floor selector and on/off switch that can be adjusted with the flick of your finger when cleaning. When you purchase a Miele upright vacuum, you never have to bend over to adjust your vacuum's settings.
