The Miele Olympus and Miele Quartz are two popular Miele canister vacuums that look very similar yet are very different in terms of structure, internal components, and attachments.

The biggest difference that separates the Miele Olympus and Miele Quartz is the size of the filter bag. The Olympus comes equipped with a spacious 4.76 quart Miele GN bag while the Miele Quartz carries slightly smaller Miele FJM bags that hold only 3.76 quarts of debris. Both styles feature a self-closing collar that traps dirt safety inside and its even color-coded! If your vacuum bag is white with a blue collar that means your vacuum takes Miele Type GN bags. Likewise, if your vacuum bag is white with a red collar that means your vacuum takes Miele Type FJM bags. This makes ordering replacement bags easy and seamless.
Another noticeable difference that separates the Miele Olympus from the Miele Quartz is the floor nozzle that comes standard with each model. While the Olympus comes armed with the Miele SBD350-3 FiberTeQ Floor Tool, the Quartz boasts a slightly different version in the Miele SBD470-3 FiberTeQ Floor Tool. Both attachments work great on low-pile carpet and smooth floor surfaces, however, the design is varied slightly when you compare the two tools side-by-side. The docking clip found on the backside of the neck allows you to append each attachment to the back or sides of your canister for convenient storage. If you own the Olympus, you only have one place to dock your attachment on the backside of the canister. If you own the Quartz, you have three places, left side, right side, and backside, to secure your floor tool when not in use.
