Our customers spend considerable time and effort researching products before making a decision, and that's understandable! We know how important it is to make sure your money is well-spent. We also understand that researching can get overwhelming at times, so we compiled a list of frequently-asked questions in the hopes of making your shopping research a little easier.
How do you say "Miele"?
The correct way to pronounce the brand's name is "Mee-luh." This is the last name of the brand's co-founder, Carl Miele.
Can my Miele's standard filter be upgraded to a HEPA filter?
Yes, it can. All of Miele's upright, canister, and stick vacuum cleaners can accommodate HEPA filters. Our only warning is that the standard Miele AirClean filter should be removed before you upgrade: using both filters at the same time can compromise airflow.
Can my Miele support a power nozzle?
Most models in the C3 series and C2 models with electric canister hoses can support any of Miele's height-adjustable power nozzles. Miele vacuums with non-electric hoses, such as those in the C1 series, cannot accommodate power nozzles.
How does the combination rug/floor tool work?
Miele's combination rug/floor tool has a toggle switch that releases a stiff row of bristles for bare floor cleaning. This lifts the tool's edges off the floor to prevent scratches while it picks dirt off the surface. When the switch is pressed back to carpet mode, the bristles retract to give the tool maximum suction on low-pile carpeting.
How does Miele's warranty work? What does it cover?
The housing and motors on all of Miele's upright and canister vacuums are guaranteed for seven years. The exception to this is the Miele Complete C3 Brilliant, which is backed by a ten-year warranty. All of Miele's attachments are backed by a one-year warranty, and canister hoses are guaranteed for two years. For more information, please see this blog post.
Where can I find bags and parts for my Miele vacuum?
You can find Miele vacuum bags right on our website. We also offer a range of replacement brushrolls, cord winders, and other various parts for all of Miele's upright and canister vacuum cleaners, but those are not currently listed on our site. To order some replacement parts, we ask that you call our vacuum specialists at (866) 972-8227 so they can help you find the proper parts the first time around.
What are some of the benefits of the C2 series over the C1?
Vacuums in Miele's C2 series are generally quieter, better insulated, fully sealed, and more compact than C1 series models. C2 series vacuum cleaners also offer an additional three feet of cleaning range, so their owners will be able to clean a wider area without needing to change power outlets. For more information about the differences between the Miele canister series, please see this post.
Do the accessories store on board?
Models in the C3 series offer built-in storage for their included crevice tools, dusting brushes, and upholstery tools. C1 and C2 series models frequently include Miele's detachable VarioClip, which can be mounted on the canister hose for easy access during cleaning.
