We've reviewed several SEBO vacuum cleaners in recent months, and it's easy to see why these vacuums are trusted to clean some of the world's most exclusive homes and hotels. Getting the Felix ready to vacuum was quick and easy. A quick-release cord hook on the back of the unit made it easy for us to access the entire power cord for maximum cleaning range right off the bat. The Felix features a soft startup that gently increases its noise output after it is powered on. Our noise output reader recorded the Felix 4 at a maximum level of 68 decibels on full suction. During cleaning, we averaged its sound level at an unobjectionable 66 decibels. This reading falls on the low end of the average vacuum cleaner output range.
The Felix easily lifted sugar, crumbs, sand, and other debris from our low-pile carpet and Berber rugs in just one pass. We raised the Felix's height setting (via sliding switch on its nozzle) to clean our shag rug. Although the Felix does not have a power nozzle, it was surprisingly easy to maneuver over this deep carpet. For homes with wall-to-wall carpeting, we recommend outfitting the Felix with a SEBO ET-1 power nozzle. For bare floors and low-pile carpeting, the included straight suction nozzle will do just fine.
The Felix's cleaning power is not just limited to floors. For quick pickups on above-the-floor surfaces, pull the instant-use extension hose from the housing. We took this a step further. When the Felix's nozzle is removed, it transforms into a helpful, portable vacuum that helped us reach all the way to the ceiling. This feature was especially helpful for cleaning along walls, and it is a great help for cleaning staircases, drapes, upholstery, and more. When you bring the Felix back to the floor, its low-profile design and flat-to-the-floor capability makes cleaning under tables and other low furnishings easier than ever before.
The Felix will also take care of the dirt and debris you can't see. The plaid wrap around the Felix's housing isn't just for looks: it doubles as a motor muffler and S-Class hospital grade exhaust filter. This wraparound filter captures up to 99.9% of bacteria and allergens down to 0.3 microns to ensure that the air your vacuum exhausts is as clean as possible.
When we were finished vacuuming, the Felix 4 powered down easily and was simple to store. The Felix is compact to begin with, and features a height-adjustable handle for even more compact storage. Its included upholstery tool and crevice nozzle store on the Felix's front, so they'll always be close at hand when they're needed.
Our review team is consistently impressed by the tremendous suction power, agility, and durability of SEBOvacuum cleaners, and the Felix 4 Kombi is no exception. Even though this model lacked a power nozzle, the Felix 4 provides cleaning power that gives louder, larger vacuum cleaners a run for their money. We readily recommend this vacuum for any household with bare floors or carpeting, pet owners, and anyone who appreciates a thoroughly clean space.
