The SEBO Mechanical 350 Vacuum Provides Commercial-Grade Cleaning

In order to test its performance, we tasked the SEBO Mechanical 350 commercial upright vacuum with cleaning the shag carpeting, Berber rug, low-pile commercial carpeting, and bare floors in our office.

The SEBO Mechanical 350 provides commercial-grade cleaning capabilities without all the bells and whistles. In fact, its only electronic components are stored in the power head. The larger section of the Mechanical's housing contains only filters and a large-capacity dustbag. Its only switches (a power switch and brushroll height adjustment switch) are also located on the power nozzle. Simply tap the power button with your foot and the Mechanical 350 will be ready to go.

The powerful Mechanical 350 seemed almost self-propelled on our low-pile carpeting and bare floors. While we needed to raise the brushroll to clean the Berber rug and shag carpeting, it made easy work of revitalizing both surfaces once it was properly adjusted. (Here's a quick tip-- the Mechanical's handy extension wand can be used to toggle the brushroll height adjustment switch, so there's no need to bend over in order to change settings.) The power nozzle also features a low cleaning profile, which allows it to fit easily under folding chairs and tables. If you have lower furnishings to reach under, the Mechanical can lay flat to the floor for more compact cleaning.

In addition to its tremendous cleaning power, the SEBO Mechanical 350 also offers a lowcost of ownership. Its housing is overbuilt to ensure durability and longevity. A self-preserving automatic shutoff feature utilizes two magnets (as opposed to sensors) that power down thevacuum in the event of a clog. A clog port on the bottom of the power nozzle makes it easy to access and removeblockages, so you can get back to cleaning.

Thanks to its minimalist design, repairs on the Mechanical 350 are easy to complete yourself. It uses replaceable brush strips, which are cheaper to replace than brushrolls. Our review team especially liked that the brush strip was simple to remove. All we had to do was open the side of the power nozzle, line up the gap in the brushroll with the opening, and slide the brush strip out. No tools were required. What's more, its power cord can be easily replaced if it becomes damage. Simply unplug it from the unit and replace it with a new one.

When your vacuuming is done, simply rewind the Mechanical's generous power cord and use the carry handle on its front to easily transport it between rooms or into storage.
