How to Change Miele Filters

This HEPA AirClean filter from Miele is an upgraded version of the previous SF-AH30 filter. This is an improvement over the previous design in many ways. These filters trap and remove 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns. In general HEPA filters are recommended for users that suffer from allergies or asthma.

Aside from the upgrade in performance, this new design features a time sensitive indicator strip that alerts users when it is time to replace the filter, (once a year). Another significant design change is the absence of the charcoal layer. This seemingly small change ultimately improves the vacuum's performance, because it increases a vacuum's suction power and airflow.
This filter is designed to fit Miele S2000 canister vacuums, S300-S700 series canisters and Miele S7000 series uprights.

This filter replaces the previous SF-AH30 design

Never more disappointed with an historically elite product

Never more disappointed with an historically elite product. Suction impressive, but does not correlate to the cheaply designed head. At the highest set level off floor, would not smoothly navigate, even on wood or tile flooring. On carpet of any height, 1/8-1” pile, It would NOT budge. It also would not ‘push-off’. You had to stop, stance and prepare to surge your forward strength and then very jerkily proceed. You must PULL backward to retrace line. I’m strong, athletic, have lifted weights and exercised regularly over 40 years. Worst is, after a totally successful back surgery 2020 after 18 years pain, the twisting and shoving of back areas aggravated several of my 10 screws, 8 grafts and steel plate. If I thought a suit would flow forward in my favor I would initiate immediately. I haven’t been without penetrating sharp pains since ten days ago. It wouldn’t even budge on tile! The vac was returned. The least you could do is reevaluate, adjust head design to match suction power, even if it costs a bit more, AND describe/warn how it works in truth! Had large power head model for years…yes it worked beyond expectations, but even when much younger, the heavy, heavy head ran wild and caused back aches just from stress of controlling direction speed.

It Fit!

I have two Miele vacuums, but the company seems to be discontinuing my smaller, downstairs one. So, when I needed to change the air filter, I found that it wasn’t available just anywhere - except the Vacuum Store!

These filters have a tab you can press to see the life of the filter remaining. This tab is depressed with your thumb and is located on the front left of the filter as it is installed. I do not see this changing at all, if I press on the tab noting happens whether the filter is new or older. Any thought or suggestions? But the filter does seem to perform okay, I do not have any metering devices to see the scientific performance.
