The Vacumaid CS46 Commercial Series Power Unit is a central vacuum that’s handy to use in a variety of fields. Hair salons and barbershops can benefit from being able to capture fallen hair by simply plugging in a hose. Groomers and kennels can see even more of a benefit because the HEPA filtration system keeps allergens contained.

Other industries, including dental offices and woodworking shops, can also benefit from having a central vacuum system. This commercial vacuum by VacuMaid features a 3,000-hour power unit, too, so your vacuum will last a long time.

The VacuMaid uses a 6.6 inch 2-stage tangential bypass motor. This one comes with a cyclonic inverted bag, with a paper bag option available as well. The capacity of this vacuum is 27 quarts. The sound level of the CS46 is a quiet 60 decibels with vented exhaust.

The power unit’s dimensions are 12 ⅞ inches in diameter and 39 ⅞ inches high. The voltage on this unit is 120 volts, and it has 9.6 max amps. The max airflow on this unit is 139 cubic feet per minute (CFM). The utility valve on the front allows you to plug directly into the power unit.

With the inverted bag, you get cyclonic filtration. The vacuum features an optional special stem that allows you to use a sealed paper bag for easy maintenance. Inverted bag units provide a permanent filter and require occasional cleaning. To clean them, remove the dirt canister by supporting the bottom canister with your knee. Then, unsnap the two dirt canister latches by grasping the lower end of each latch and pulling them straight away from the canister. Carefully lower the dirt canister, dump the contents into the trash container, and set it aside.

It’s not necessary to remove the inverted bag, just follow these steps. A plastic bag may be placed over the bottom portion of the top canister. Then, while holding the plastic bag tightly around the canister with one hand, push the bag up inside it with the other hand. Brush or shake the bag surface to loosen dust and debris. In this way, the bag can be cleaned without getting dust or debris on the floor or hands.

Replace the dirt canister by slipping the rim of the dirt canister over the lip of the top can until it’s sealed against the rim gasket. Then while holding the canister in place with your knee, fasten the two latches. Hook the top lip of each latch over the rim of the top can and press straight in on the bottom of the latches until they lock.
