The central vacuum packages we have listed here are the ideal units and attachment kits for modest-sized homes up to 3,000 square feet in size. Honeywell may very well be the ideal brand for most situations, but really anything recommended here would be able to accomplish its tasks satisfactorily. Also, keep in mind that the packages listed in our "Up to 6000 Square Ft." category will work as well, and with potentially even stronger suction power. This vacuum does a great job on my low-pile carpets - just as good as my old Sebo vacuum did, but at about a third the price. The suction is fantastic and the roller brush seems to work very well. It is a simple machine - without fancy options, but that is exactly what I wanted. The trade offs: it is heavy and a little hard to maneuver - it definitely works best when there is plenty of room to move around. My previous vacuum was a Sebo canister with a power head that worked really well - I had that machine for eight years and it was great - but it cost almost $1,000. I don't miss dragging the canister around, but I do miss the agility of the head and the ability to vacuum under furniture. I think this machine has a little more suction and it seems to collect just as much dirt as the Sebo. In a "bang for buck" comparison, it is superior to the Sebo for pure carpet vacuuming.
