How to find the right Shark battery or charger

  1. Find your vacuum's model number on the rating label, and the part number printed on the old battery.
  2. Match either number to the product title below.
  3. Only use a battery and adapter with the same voltage as the original. A mismatched charger can fail to charge or damage the battery.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my Shark battery or charger is the problem?

If the charging light doesn't come on, try a different outlet and check the adapter cable and the charging contacts for damage or dirt. If the light comes on but runtime is now very short, the battery is usually worn out. Rechargeable batteries lose capacity with age and charge cycles.

Why won't my Shark cordless vacuum charge?

Common causes are a faulty AC adapter, dirty or bent charging contacts, a battery that isn't fully seated, or a battery at the end of its life. If a known-good adapter still won't charge it, replace the battery.

Can I use a charger from a different Shark model?

Only if the voltage, connector and model compatibility match. Using the wrong adapter can stop the vacuum from charging or damage the battery, so match the model number in the product title.

How do I dispose of an old vacuum battery?

Don't put rechargeable batteries in household trash. Take them to a battery recycling drop-off; many hardware and electronics stores accept them.
