These electric attachment kits work well on multiple floor surfaces, whether that's low-to-medium pile carpeting or any type of smooth surface flooring. As you can tell from the description, these kits are available with either a direct connect or pig-tail hose. What type of hose you'll need depends on your hose inlet valves. The direct connect hose works with Super Valves, and the pig-tail hose works with Standard Valves. But aside from just including a power nozzle for carpeting, these kits include other attachments, such as a bare floor brush, crevice tool and dusting brush. So, although these are deemed "Standard" kits, they are arguably just a versatile as the higher end kits for your central vacuum. I haven't had to change the bag in my vacuum yet, but it appears to be easy enough and I like the fact that the hose end to the vacuum unit does not have to be removed in order to change the bag. This is another reason why I don't like the ProLux Terra Vacuum, very hard to replace the bag.
