This vacuum does a great job on my low-pile carpets - just as good as my old Sebo vacuum did, but at about a third the price. The suction is fantastic and the roller brush seems to work very well. It is a simple machine - without fancy options, but that is exactly what I wanted. The trade offs: it is heavy and a little hard to maneuver - it definitely works best when there is plenty of room to move around. My previous vacuum was a Sebo canister with a power head that worked really well - I had that machine for eight years and it was great - but it cost almost $1,000. I don't miss dragging the canister around, but I do miss the agility of the head and the ability to vacuum under furniture. I think this machine has a little more suction and it seems to collect just as much dirt as the Sebo. In a "bang for buck" comparison, it is superior to the Sebo for pure carpet vacuuming.
