Complete C3 models are known for their six setting digital suction control panel, one-touch automatic cord rewind, and on-board interior tool compartment, but the Miele Alize takes things up a notch thanks to a few extra bells and whistles.
For one, the Miele Complete C3 Alize is the only Miele canister model with a built-in LED headlight on the handle. This lights your path as you clean and reveals dirt and dander commonly overlooked in traditional vacuuming situations. To absorb shock and vibration, the Miele Alize features three patented Dynamic Drive swivel casters. Unlike traditional rubber swivel casters, Miele Dynamic Drive wheels feature soft yet durable air-filled tires mounted on metal hubs that set into shock-absorbing casters. With this design, you still have 360-degree maneuverability, but get a smoother ride on bumpier surfaces. The benefit to this being lower noise impact and a more peaceful vacuuming experience.
Building off of the Complete C3's digital suction design, the Miele Alize features automatic suction control that turns on upon powering up the vacuum. For novice users, this takes the guesswork out of choosing which height setting is best for your floor surface. For elderly owners, the automatic suction setting eliminates the balancing act of standing on one foot while you use the other to fiddle with the +/- buttons. For added convenience, the Miele Alize features a rear parking station on the left, right, and underside of the canister. In layman's terms, the docking clip located on the backside of the Miele SBD650-3 AirTeQ Combination Floor Tool is designed to fit into one of the three storage stations on the canister. When placed inside, the 1200-watt Vortex motor will power down. This saves energy and allows the user to divert his/her attention to unexpected interruptions.
Also located on the suction control panel is the rectangle-shaped filter change indicator. When the Miele SF-HA50 HEPA filter needs to be replaced, the light will illuminate bright red. You should expect to replace this filter once a year, but you may need to change more often if you have furry critters. You can also find this feature on the Miele Marin and Miele Brilliant, but only the Miele Alize comes equipped with this perk at a fraction of the cost. Widespread across all Miele canisters models is the bag change indicator. Just below the hose inlet is a small window that turns red when the Miele GN bag has been filled to its 4.76 quart capacity.
