Most-replaced Bissell carpet cleaner parts

Pumps: the most common cause of a machine that stops spraying. See all Bissell pumps.
Pump and brush belts: belt-driven models use separate belts for the pump and the brushes, and both wear over time.
Tanks, floats and caps: cracked tanks, stuck floats and worn caps or gaskets cause leaks and loss of suction.
Brushes and nozzles: worn brushes and cracked or warped nozzles reduce cleaning and water pickup.
Hoses and stain tools: replacement hoses, Tough Stain, PetStain, Deep Injection, Stain Trapper and HydroRinse tools.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Bissell carpet cleaner not spraying?

Check that the clean water tank is full, seated correctly and that its cap isn't clogged. Next, check the spray tips for mineral or formula buildup. If the tank and tips are clear, the pump may have failed or, on belt-driven pumps, the pump belt may be broken. Pumps, pump belts, spray tips and trigger valves are all in this collection.

Why is my Bissell carpet cleaner not picking up water?

Loss of suction usually comes from a dirty water tank that isn't fully seated, a stuck float, a full dirty tank, or a cracked or loose nozzle. Worn tank or nozzle gaskets also let air leak in. Empty and reseat the tank, check that the float moves freely, and inspect the nozzle and gaskets.

Why won't the brushes spin on my Bissell carpet cleaner?

The most common causes are a broken or stretched brush belt and hair or string wrapped around the brushes. Some models have a brush on/off setting, so check that too. On models with a separate brush motor, a failed brush motor can also stop the brushes.

Do Bissell carpet cleaners use the same parts across models?

Some parts, like certain belts, stair tools and stain tools, are shared across a product family, but most tanks, nozzles, pumps and hoses are model-specific. Always match your model number before ordering.
