ProTeam 15XP Product Review

ProTeam 15XP Product Review

For this review, we tested ProTeam's 15XP vacuum cleaner on both tile and pile carpeting to gauge how it performed on these surfaces. Want to know how it does? Well, you'll have to read on to find out!

ProTeam 15XPWhen you first open your eVacuumStore shipment, you are going to be greeted with an array of parts. You have an ergonomic handle that needs to be attached to the vacuum body, a carrying handle that must be attached to the backside of the vacuum using a flathead screwdriver, a 7 ft crushproof hose, crevice tool, dusting brush, and lastly a cleaning wand. With so many parts, it's easy to get overwhelmed. However, ProTeam does a good job of giving customers a self-help guide to assembling your vacuum cleaner with high-quality graphic images, and eVacuumStore has created its own step-by-step instructions on how to assemble this model.

ProTeam Power SwitchOnce the 15XP is assembled, you can turn the vacuum on using the power selector located on the ergonomic handle. The first setting, designated by one vertical bar, turns on the vacuum motor. This setting is ideal for bare floor surfaces. The second setting, designated by two vertical bars, simultaneously runs both the vacuum motor and power nozzle. This is ideal for when you're vacuuming low, medium, or high-pile carpets. To switch between settings, simply press down on the one you wish to use. To turn the vacuum off, leave the button in a neutral position. For the first phase of our testing, we tried this vacuum out on low-pile carpet, which means we used "||" power setting. This ignited a green indicator light on the power nozzle. For the most part, this vacuum performed pretty well. The brushroll agitated the carpet like a pro, and the 11 amp, 96 CFM motor vacuumed up all dirt and debris in a jiffy.

After we had tested out the ProTeam 15XP on low-pile carpet, we decided to take this model for a spin on medium-pile carpet. Same as with low-pile carpet, the ProTeam 15XP dominated this floor surface. For a little extra fun, we decided to see how well the brushroll jam indicator worked by running over a towel. As soon as the brushroll made contact, the indicator turned bright red on the power nozzle. This feature is very handy because a jam in the brushroll can lead to motor damage and belt breakage if the blockage is not detected. Once the jam is removed, you can power on the vacuum using the switch on the handle, or you can press the red reset switch on the power head.

ProTeam 15XP BagOnce we were done testing out this vacuum, we manually wrapped the 35 ft power cord around the hooks located on the backside of the body housing and took a tour of the inner compartments. To reach the intercept micro bag, you simply press on a dark grey button on top of the vacuum body to open up the inner housing. This bag collects all dirt and debris sucked up by the vacuum. When it gets full, a red warning indicator will illuminate on the powerhead. This takes the guesswork out of changing bags. Behind the intercept micro bag, you will find the motor intake filter. This should be washed every other time you vacuum. Saving the best for last, the HEPA filter removes 99.97% of dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns in size. To reach the HEPA filter, you must open up the "cage" on the side vacuum. ProTeam recommends that this filter be changed every 6 to 9 months with regular use.

Overall, this vacuum is durable, powerful and works great on any floor surface. We hope this product review gave you a solid introduction to the ProTeam 15XP upright vacuum cleaner.
